Dawn Herb, of 924 Luzerne St., is facing a disorderly conduct charge that was issued after she started swearing at her backed-up toilet near an open window last week.

If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and a $300 fine.

Ya just can't make this stuff up.
I'm concerned about this on a couple of levels. I cuss when I get pissed off. I am hard of hearing and tend to speak loud or yell when I need someone/something to hear and listen to me. I think that's because when I ask someone to speak up because I'm hard of hearing they usually don't unless I start yelling. (I don't know why that is.)

I love the modern convenience of a toilet that flushes and expect my toilet to do what it is suppose to do when I need it to. Right? Don't we all expect that from our toilets?
As someone who uses a lot of toilet paper I know THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ME:

"This is an extreme example of the government trying to intrude into a place they have no business being, your bathroom and your home," said Mary Catherine Roper, an attorney with the ACLU. "You can prosecute somebody for bad language in Iran, this isn’t Iran."

"I don’t have a record and I don’t want it marked by this stupid incident," Ms. Herb said.

A mother of four, she was cited for disorderly conduct after a neighbor, who is a Scranton police officer, overheard her swearing at her backed-up toilet near the open window.

Scranton Patrolman Patrick Gilman, who was off-duty at the time, asked her to stop using profanity, setting off a brief verbal altercation between the neighbors, police said.

"He cursed at me and I cursed back at him. I didn’t know he was a police officer," she said.

My mother would have been so arrested so many times yelling at one of ten people sharing a one bathroom home EVERY DAY! That toilet was always malfunctioning and my mom, bless her heart, could yell louder, swear better than anyone else I ever met. (And that trait is in the DNA genes.)

I'm still trying to figure out what Rule of Law this woman broke. Gotta find the funny in things that are out of whack, but I do know for a fact that a clogged up toilet is no fun. I didn't know that the repercussions of a clogged up toilet is against the law.

Talk about being at the WRONG place at the WRONG time.( Like in your own home in your own bathroom.) Oy!
